  • Dr. Fontaine's Bio
    Dr. Gerald Fontaine

    A 1977 graduate of the Auburn College of Veterinary Medical Medicine, Dr. Fontaine is a past president of the Southeast Alabama Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the Greater Dothan Veterinary Medical Association.  In addition, he maintains memberships in the AVMA and ALVMA.  Practicing in the Wiregrass since 1977, he opened Westwood Pet Care in 2002.

    He and his wife, Adrienne, have one son, Dan, and a daughter-in-law, Laura, and two grandsons, Evan and Julian.  Dr. Fontaine enjoys a number of hobbies including music, cooking, gardening, and of course, spending time with his grandsons!

    Dr Amanda Joki
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Joki has been passionate about veterinary medicine from a very young age. She grew up in Louisiana on a small farm with goats, chickens, and rescue horses. Dr. Joki earned her Bachelor's in Animal Science at Louisiana State University, where she also attended veterinary school. In 2018, Dr. Joki completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and began practicing in Virginia where she cared for companion animals. Dr. Joki recently relocated to Dothan, AL and is excited to finally be back in the south with her husband Michael, an Alabama native. At home, she has three rescue dogs, a cat, and an assortment of rabbits and poultry. Dr. Joki and her husband recently welcomed their first son, Wesley, into the world. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her pets, gardening, backpacking, and camping with her family.

    Dr. Amanda Joki is excited to be living and working in Dothan, AL. She is passionate about preventative care for pets and education for pet parents. She also really enjoys wound management and surgery. She is so excited to make new relationships and take care of your pets.
